The Energy Research Centre (ERC) is a multi-disciplinary energy research centre, based in the Faculty of Engineering and the Built Environment at the University of Cape Town.

The Sustainability Institute (SI) was established in Lynedoch Ecovillage in 1999 to provide a space for people to explore an approach to creating a more equitable society.
