Carbon-neutral Craft Brewery & Eatery

Darling Brew, a renowned craft beer brand based in South Africa, stands as a pioneer in sustainability within the brewing industry. Established in 2010 in Darling on the West Coast, it became Africa's first carbon-neutral brewery. Darling Brew focuses on crafting high-quality, innovative beers while championing environmental responsibility and community engagement. Inspired by a journey through Africa, the founders established Darling Brew, with its flagship beer, Slow Beer, reflecting both their commitment to quality and conservation efforts. Their sustainability initiatives extend to naming beers after endangered species, with each product aimed at raising awareness for wildlife conservation. Notably, in 2016, Darling Brew introduced Africa's first carbon-neutral beer, The Wanderer, leading the way in sustainability and garnering industry recognition. Darling Brew achieves carbon neutrality by offsetting emissions, further solidifying its position as a leader in environmentally conscious brewing practices. To further build on the success of Darling Brew's products, there are two Tasterooms in South Africa open to the public - in Darling and Bethlehem (FS). These restaurants are family friendly and cater for beer lovers as well as non-beer drinkers with a wide variety of drink options accompanied by delicious food. The Tasterooms offer the unique Darling Brew experience and is worth a visit!
