Burgherspost Wine Estate on the Darling wine route was one of the very first estates to be given Champion status under the Biodiversity and Wine Initiative.
Burgherspost set aside roughly two thirds of the farm or 1150 Ha for the conservation of the critically endangered Cape Lowlands fynbos. The estate works together with their sister farm, Cloof Wine estate, to produce top quality grapes for the wine market, as well as producing Cloof brand wines.
