SANCCOB aims to protect and preserve South Africa's coastal birds, especially threatened species, for the benefit of present and future generations.

SANCCOB rescues, rehabilitates and releases ill, injured, oiled and orphaned sea birds. It also runs training courses for volunteers. The centre offers lectures for school children (booking essential) and opportunities for local and foreign volunteers.

SANCCOB meets their mission by supporting coastal bird research programmes and disseminating information; raising public awareness through education and raising funds to support and sustain this mission effectively.
