A truly unique eco-theatrical performance, written especially for the Aquarium by multi-award winning South African playwright Clare Stopford, From Home to Ocean will be making its debut in this one-time-only stage performance on 30 July 2019.
Join the line-up of local talent who will be acting for action as Two Oceans Aquarium brings Plastic Free July 2019 to a close.
If you've ever been curious about interactive theatre, this unique one of a kind experience may be just what you need to fill your Tuesday evening.
From Home to Ocean looks at how and why plastics enter the ocean, what makes it a huge problem, solutions that are already in circulation and most importantly, we open up the next level of problem-solving: what have we not yet thought of? What other ways are there of thinking about the problem? Come around to the Aquarium to find out just how this plays out...
What makes this type of theatre different?
Other than the amazing venue, From Home to Ocean is a "forum theatre" experience. This means that once the actors have enacted a scene depicting an environmental concern, social problem or cultural struggle, YOU will be able to give comment and even join them on stage to re-enact the scene with an intervention that you think could solve the problem. What unfolds is an interactive, collective re-writing and re-enactment of the script. Truly Acting for Action!
Don't want to be in the limelight? Not a problem, you can be as interactive as you like in a forum theatre or simply enjoy the show!
